Meet Alisha!

My Story:

My very first job was Dunkin Donuts at the age of 16. I was so very excited to be earning my own money and buying things for myself. Even at the age of 16, I had an undeniable work ethic that my managers noticed. I took on extra shifts (because I wanted to buy more stuff!), I volunteered for projects, and I learned how the regulars liked their coffee on Saturday mornings. From there, I held many other jobs, in many industries including retail, hospitality, social services, and now HR; and for the last 9 years I have been an entrepreneur sharing my experiences and coaching others through their employment/personal development journeys.

Just like you, I held many roles, many that weren’t even in alignment with my career goals. I have worked dead end jobs, low paying jobs, and jobs where I used less than 25% of my skillset. But what I discovered was that each experience and job I held provided me with a collection of skills that made me a more valuable candidate to the next employer.

(Even though it didnt seem that way through the transitions :)

After realizing my value and investing in my education (both formally and informally), I have accelerated my career growth and positioned myself for success. I have interviewed with top Fortune 500 companies including NBCUniversal, RWJ Barnabas Health, and Johnson & Johnson before I landed my role at Siemens Healthineers. I made it through 6 intense interview rounds before I got an offer and each experience was well worth the reward. The reward was not only a salary and benefits (and a cool on-site gym), it was having gone through the trenches of what it takes to get that dream job so that I can help accelerate others to do the same.

What I have to offer today is a collection of experiences, expertise in workforce development, and HR/Recruiting insight to help you develop a killer work ethic and excel in the workplace. In my past role as an Employment Specialist, I knocked on many office doors and carried conversations with managers across industries about what they needed in their workforce in order to effectively place my clients. I regularly stalk the US Department of Labor’s twitter account for the latest news, and I reshare job opportunities to my followers. My experience is supported by my educational background in Mental Health and Organizational Psychology.

If you cant tell by now, I love helping people discover themselves to unlock their potential and seeing how that impacts their career journey. Because of my experience as an HR professional, diversity & inclusion advocate, and workforce development I have a competitive edge in helping individuals pursue talent level jobs at reputable companies in their industry. How can I pay it forward to help you too?
