Make a Decision!

September 2015 Newsletter

Applying an effective decision making model can help you through any scenario:
  • Problem Solving
  • Work Decisions
  • Family
  • Starting a Business
  • Relationships
  • Learning a new skill
  • Career Planning
  • School

Make a Decision

What is it that you decided you wanted to work on for the remainder of 2015? Whatever you have decided to accomplish, the most important step is to decide what you are going to do. Without clarity on what you want to do, you will not be able to begin the planning process and you will be delaying your own progress.

Scenario:
Decision: You want a promotion at your job (whether the position is available or not). Now you are able to begin the planning process of what the requirements are for this new position.
Planning Questions: What personal/professional development do I need to participate in to make myself more qualified? Are there opportunities to volunteer at work to build relationships with key players? Look for leadership opportunities at the next company meeting, etc.
Action, This is where opportunity meets preparation:
When you make a decision and begin to move toward it, the universe moves with you. How and when it will happen is none of your business. The worst thing you can do is to wait for the position to become open to try to do the above planning. By then, its too late. I guarantee there will be a person that applied the decision and planning process in order to prepare for the moment that the position becomes available; and management has noticed.

See what can happen if you drop the ball on decision making?

No matter what your goal is, there are certain steps that are applied in order to help you effectively and efficiently get to the finish line. The first step is to decide what you want to do...

Get yourself a notebook and brainstorm on what it is that you want for yourself. Dont overwhelm yourself with the how and when. Just decide...

Are you Half-A**ing the year away?

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
Sorry, hope that wasnt too harsh but I got your attention huh?

We are entering the month of July, the 7th month of the year and it is time to take a moment to reflect on all the hard work that we have been putting in thus far. If you havent been able to begin working on the goals you created at the beginning of the year, it may be because you are holding yourself up. The month of July is all about NO EXCUSES. You have been half-a**ing your success long enough (oops there I go again) and its time to get disciplined. I am suggesting the book "No Excuses" by Brian Tracy to provide some principles of self-discipline and how to get the ball rolling (and keep it rolling). The book is available at any book retailer but I am including the link to the amazon.com listing.

If you didnt participate in the 21 Day Make It Happen Challenge or you slacked off  (yes I can see who opens the emails and listens to the audios), this book is definitely for you! In 21 days, I created a new division in my jewelry business that will open a new flow of income for me. What did you make happen? I would love to hear your stories. In the meantime, get this book and let finish up this year successfully!

Cheers to change,

Circle of Concern V.S Circle of Control

Sometimes we allow the things that go on in the environment to influence how we behave and how effective we are in our lives. This brief clips highlights how we are allowing everyday concerns to influence our life and also how changing how we react to them can increase our influence on the situations. This is not to say that you can control the world, but you CAN control your reactions to them and what you allow in your circle of concern. The Pretty Padded Room

Hello Ladies!!!

How important is it to have a place where you can relax and de-stress from all the junk and negative people that you deal with everyday? I find it so necessary to be surrounded by objects and colors that make me feel warm and happy. A woman who keeps her space tidy understands the importance of peace and clarity. If a person has cluttered surroundings, it is usually a sign that they have a cluttered mindset because whatever goes on in your head will be projected into your environment subconsciously. When your mind is cluttered, you cant make good decisions, you can struggle with direction, and become distracted easily. These are all detriments to your ability to be a great problem solver, and as we have come to realize, life is so much smoother when you are a great problem solver. I like to call my office (and my meditation space at home) the pretty padded room because it is a space where I can go and release my frustrations and feel good in my environment. Having a designated space to feel good in will help cultivate a happy, positive state of mind. I like for my clients to feel good and be optimistic when they come to my office, there is nothing dull or boring about transforming your life! Creating a space that is clean and gives you fuzzy feelings could be just the thing you need to help build those positive mental muscles.

Be Well,

Alisha
